Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
An aircraft carrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane touched down in accordance with established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels at the time.
This occurrence does not mark the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has suffered mechanical issues.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane ferrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to head back to Washington after experiencing a mechanical problem.
