Barcelona to Host Historic Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
