Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – including some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
