Iran is willing to restart atomic discussions with Washington as long as it is treated with "respect" and "honor", Tehran's foreign minister has announced.

The Iranian diplomat declared only diplomacy worked, and disclosed fresh requests had been made by mediators to resume negotiations with the American leadership. He said Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Iran could not yet authorize the global atomic watchdog to access bombed nuclear sites for protective measures.

Navigating a Complex Route

The foreign minister is navigating a difficult path since Iran does not want be seen to be operating from a situation of disadvantage, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had come out stronger militarily and mentally from the coordinated strike on its enrichment centers in June.

He was talking at a security conference in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "an absolute privilege to process nuclear material on home soil that it will always maintain" – the primary cause of the deadlock in the earlier negotiations.

Earlier Negotiations Suddenly Concluded

The earlier sessions of negotiations between the US and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and hostile end on 12 June when Israel, with American backing, struck Tehran's atomic facilities in a fortnight-long engagement that concluded with the US president declaring the facilities had been destroyed. Following this, European countries used their right to reinstate international penalties, but Iran asserts they have not had a significant effect.

Perfect Agreement Suggested

Iran's diplomats said they felt they had reached a "perfect agreement" to the enrichment issue in previous talks, when it was agreed an local partnership with US participation could refine atomic fuel. Each party would have been able to claim victory since local refinement would have continued and the US could be assured that Iran's atomic project was exclusively peaceful.

It had not been agreed in the talks that Washington's technical specialists could work inside Iran, but that was a reasonable assumption of the consortium proposal. Representatives stated repeatedly they had secured an understanding with Washington's diplomat Steve Witkoff only for the arrangement to disintegrate due to "spoilers in Washington".

Current Status

Iran's diplomats said the partnership proposal was now no longer available, but it seems highly likely the suggestion could be revived in some form if negotiations reopen.

Trump recently stated he had been receiving messages that Iran sought to restart talks, but privately Tehran representatives claim they are not yet getting consistent overtures from the United States either straightforwardly or from important Middle Eastern intermediaries, such as Qatar, the Egyptian leadership, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Tehran's diplomatic corps has been charged of non-responsiveness in the face of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Tehran says dialogue is not part of a performance.

Negotiating Stance

In his remarks to the gathering, intended to portray the US as a hegemonic power that abuses the idea of international law, the foreign minister declared the fortnight-long engagement revealed the dispute could not be settled by combat operations. He said the strikes commenced with a Washington's ultimatum for an total Iran submission and culminated with an unconditional call for a truce.

Iran is certain the first strikes by Israel were mounted with complete American awareness and collaboration, making confidence hard to reestablish.

Negotiations Continues the Ultimate Answer

Araghchi declared: "Tehran was not the one that had fled dialogue; it was America and the Western nations that had always attempted to dictate their demands during the negotiations. Negotiations can still be alive and remains the primary solution to address disputes, but its requirements, rules and tenets must be adhered to."

"In case they talk to the Iranian people with the approach of dignity and honor, they will receive a reply in the equivalent tone."

Restoration and Reconstruction

In what is characterized by Iranian officials as the battle of restoration and rebuilding, Araghchi claimed he was certain Iran's military capacities "are much stronger than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been restored. We acquired numerous insights from this engagement; we have come to know our internal vulnerabilities and the shortcomings of the enemy."

He stated: "We effectively endured this war. Our enrichment knowledge, which they intended to eliminate, continues to exist. The facilities and machinery, if damaged, will be restored; what is essential is the resolve of the Iranian people and then the unity of the country that they aimed at, but were unable to destroy. The citizens of Tehran have grown more resilient, more cohesive, and more endorsing of the government and the state in the face of this assault."
