Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers Earn First Wins Following Player Arrests
Miami put up 86 first-half points against the Memphis Grizzlies
Miami Heat earned a crushing 146-114 win against the Memphis Grizzlies in their first basketball game after player Terry Rozier was arrested for suspected illegal sports betting.
Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups was additionally detained as part of a sweeping FBI probe into illegal gambling. The two individuals contest the claims.
However, the Miami team were focused as they put up eighty-six opening half points to be ahead of the Grizzlies by 39 at halftime, the largest halftime lead in the team's 37 year existence.

"We all had positive times with Chauncey and how he coached," Tiago remarked. "Our thoughts are with him and his family but our focus is on the game."
League Commissioner Silver 'Disturbed' by Arrests
Addressing the detentions for the first time, league head Adam Silver said he was "very upset" by the incidents of the past few days.
"There's nothing more important to the NBA and its fans than the integrity of the competition," he informed Amazon Prime. "And so I had a pit in my stomach. It was disturbing."
Silver also mentioned an league probe into the player's actions in March 2023, when there was "unusual wagering" in a game he participated for the Hornets against the New Orleans Pelicans, found nothing untoward.
"We were informed by the regulators and the betting companies," he continued.
"We then looked into that situation and were open regarding it. Although there was that aberrational betting, we, frankly, found no evidence.
"Federal authorities has legal authority... [it] can threaten to put people in jail, can do all kinds of things that the league office can't do.
"Therefore, we've been working with them since then. Naturally, what they revealed yesterday was an charge.
"And 30 months later, he has not been found guilty of anything, in justice to Terry.
"Obviously, it doesn't look good, but he's been suspended, and so it is a compromise here between upholding rights and conducting an inquiry."
