The former president's Family Member Seeks Expert Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Prior to LPGA Debut
The rising star maintains substantial online following
Kai Trump will have plenty of well-known cheerleaders as she starts her professional golf debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to Donald Trump, received a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, someone who loves golf, owns several international courses and frequently plays against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we have tight competitions," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, unable to come, advised her: "Simply stay calm."
"He essentially advised me to compete and enjoy myself," she explained.
"To me, he's just an ordinary family member. He's not attending this weekend. He's occupied with world affairs, so he's quite busy."
While still amateur, the golfer has participated in only three events in 2024 and holds ranking 461 in AJGA rankings.
However she's able to get advice from Tiger Woods, who is dating Vanessa.
"He stands as the best player globally," Kai stated.
"And he's a superior person. He advised me to compete, relax, and go with the flow."
The golfer will compete against some of top competitors in the sport at this tournament, featuring second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that involving Kai brings golf to wider groups, particularly reaching younger fans.
Kai boasts substantial online presence and recently launched her own apparel and wellness label.
Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
