Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”
This update on his health arrives after the boxing community offered sympathy for the champion in the following the devastating accident.
